Points per match

For each match, your prediction is scored against the actual result. Only the best category applies.

5 pts Exact score — predicted score matches the result exactly (e.g. pred 2-0, result 2-0)

4 pts Correct goal difference — same winning margin (e.g. pred 3-1, result 2-0, both won by 2)

3 pts Correct outcome only — winner/loser correct but wrong margin (e.g. pred 2-0, result 1-0)

1 pts One team goal correct — exact goals for one side (e.g. pred 2-0, result 2-1)

0 pts Nothing correct

Base points are multiplied by the stage weight to reward harder predictions.

Draws (group stage)

The same rules apply symmetrically. Predicting 1-1 for a 1-1 result → exact score (5 pts). Predicting 2-2 for a 1-1 result → correct outcome (draw, 3 pts). Goal difference scoring does not apply to draws.

Examples

Example 1 — Quarter-final

You predict Brazil 2 – 1 Colombia. Actual result: Brazil 2 – 0 Colombia.

Correct outcome (Brazil win) = 3 pts × 2 (QF multiplier) = 6 pts

Example 2 — Group stage

You predict Germany 3 – 1 Japan. Actual result: Germany 4 – 2 Japan.

Correct goal difference (both won by 2) = 4 pts × 1 (group) = 4 pts

Example 3 — Final

You predict Argentina 1 – 0 France. Actual result: Argentina 1 – 0 France.

Exact score = 5 pts × 3 (Final) = 15 pts
